From the 1700th century until now
When Dalarna's museum was planned in the late 1950s, a permanent exhibition of works of art from Dalarna was an important part. To supplement the museum's meager collection, in 1956 Ragnar and Birgit Åhlén decided to donate a fine collection of works of art and a capital to a foundation for art in Dalarna.
The collection has grown to almost 500 works and includes works of art from the 1700th century to the present day.
